Welcome back to BDRC! For over 50 years, the BDRC summer camp has offered a fun, summer getaway for young, growing runners from all across the nation. Campers experience a week of strength & skill-building while making new friends and having fun in the cooler climate of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Why choose BDRC?

Brevard Distance Runner's Camp is located in beautiful Brevard, North Carolina. Every summer, our camp hosts 3 weeks of training and fun for teens and preteens who are avid runners yet want to continue to expand their endurance and skills. Cool nights and mild days make the Blue Ridge Mountains the ideal place to train and run during the summer season. And, it's always a blast!

 

2023 Camp SCHEDULE & COSTS

For Campers & Coaches

Runners: If you have a coach, you can come to camp any of the three weeks.

 

We are looking forward to seeing you in 2023! All registration is online. You must pay your deposit at time of registration using a debit or credit card. The $100 deposit to reserve your space is non-refundable for any reason.

You can pay the balance due online with a credit card at any time prior to June 15th. You can mail a personal check prior to June 15th. After June 15th, you can mail a money order or cashier’s check. Any of these options will be added to your account on our end and will reflect a $0 balance which will fast track you through registration. If you prefer to bring the balance with you on registration day, you can pay with cash, money order, or certified check only (no personal checks or credit cards) payable to Brevard Distance Runners Camp.

Information for Individuals

For Individuals
  • Individuals must register and can attend for Week 1 only.

  • Individuals Week 1 must be in High School or going into High School

  • Individuals would be any person or group attending without a coach.

  • Individuals are grouped together and assigned a member of our staff as their coach.

  • Therefore any group of campers attending week 2 or 3 MUST have a coach in attendance. 

No 2-weekers without a coach. We have to have a day in between sessions for staff training and to let our staff staying in-between weeks rest.

 

Unfortunately, we can no longer accommodate individuals staying 2 weeks. If a team wants to stay 2 weeks, you will be on your own for meals and activities but can stay in the dorms.

Transportation Cost Clarification

Due to the overwhelmingly increased transportation costs, we are eliminating team vs individual pricing and moving to transportation vs no transportation costs. The incentive of bringing a team remains that a coach gets to come free per 7 runners (regardless of gender) and can pick any week to attend.

 

Teams with transportation will also have the ability to run Lake Imaging/Hooker falls and go to retreat at Fawn Lake

To get the "with trasportation" discount, please confirm with your coach that you are bringing our definition of transportation. *Transportation is deemed as buses or 12-15 passenger vans. Individual cars/minivan are NOT permitted unless your entire team + coaches can fit in one car. No campers will be allowed to drive.

Coaches:

  • One coach comes free per 7 runners, two coaches with 14 runners, etc

  • Bus Drivers must be counted as one of your allowable coaches, or they will pay a non-participant fee.

  • Coaches MUST be over the age of 21

Additional Information

*There will be an additional $50.00 automatically charged to each camper and COACH for a key deposit. The key deposit must be a separate $50 check. You must bring your key deposit with you to registration. This deposit will be returned at the end of camp if key is returned. If you turn your key in, you will receive your check back. Key Deposits will not be returned after you leave camp.

  • All Campers and Coaches must have proof of insurance uploaded to their online account. Proof of insurance is a copy of BOTH sides of the medical insurance card. Follow these directions if you need assistance. You must copy both sides of the card to one sheet of paper before uploading. Campers are responsible for any and all medical expenses incurred during camp. If allergic to bee stings, you MUST bring your own epipen.

  • The $100 deposit to reserve your space is non-refundable for any reason. If you pay in full and cannot attend camp for medical reasons, you are entitled to a refund minus the deposit. Refunds will be processed weekly.
    A camp t-shirt, lanyard and water bottle are provided for all campers. 

  • Parents, siblings and guests of campers are not allowed to stay on campus or eat in the dining hall.

  • We cannot accommodate campers who wish to arrive before camp begins or stay over after the conclusion of camp.

Very Important to Read Carefully

Please read through the instructions before filling out the form. This link was also sent with your confirmation email in the attachment called "What to Bring List" You will need your booked flight information to fill it out.

This MUST be completed AT LEAST 2 WEEKS before your session start date because that is when we arrange transportation. If you fill this out after 2 weeks, you are subject to a $50 pick-up fee and need to email us to confirm we have space.
