What to Bring List

SUMMER RUNNING IN BREVARD
"All You Need to Know about Distance Camp!"
A copy of "Summer Running in Brevard: All you need to know about BDRC" was sent with your registration confirmation. Please refer to that document for more details. This is cross country camp. You will get your shoes dirty and we will run in the rain!

-Running Apparel for 6 days
-2-3 Pairs of Running Shoes
-Sweatshirt & rain gear
-Towels
-Linens for single/twin bed-XL
-Pillow, blanket or sleeping bag
-Optional: Costumes for Graduation Run on Friday
-Swimsuit
-Casual Clothes & Shoes
-Personal Toiletries
-Fan (optional)
-Soap/Shampoo, etc.
-Insect Repellant
-$50 Personal Check for Key Deposit-this will be given back when the key is returned
-Spending Money for pizza, snacks, smoothies, Adidas Store (fantastic discounts)
-There is a grocery store next to campus that coaches/staff will take campers to if snacks/additional items are needed.
-The Co-Pay Amount for your Insurance in the event you need medical attention (Mandatory). Your co-pay should be a check made out to “Hendersonville Pediatrics” , cash or a debit card.
-Upload your medical insurance card to your account. This must be on one sheet of paper and done prior to your arrival at camp. We will not take an email or paper copy at registration.

ALLERGIC TO BEE STINGS? You MUST bring your own EPI-PEN if you are allergic to stings.
CAMP FACILITIES:
All campers will stay in college dorms. Meals are all you can eat and served cafeteria style in the college dining hall. MOST dorm rooms are NOT air-conditioned. The girls’ dorms that are air-conditioned are assigned on a rotating basis yearly according to space needs.
PHONES: Due to the busy schedule it will be difficult to reach your child during camp. Please make sure your child knows to contact you, if necessary. Cell phones are acceptable, but can only be used during designated free time. Cell phones are prohibited in the camp general sessions and on runs. Inappropriate use of cell phones and anonymous apps will result in confiscation of phones until the end of camp. BDRC is not responsible for any loss or damage to cell phones.
CHECK IN:
Registration is on Sunday of the week that you are attending from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in Boshamer Gymnasium on the Brevard College campus. The afternoon run on Sunday begins at 2:30 pm at the gym. You may not arrive before July 9 or stay after July 29. If you must arrive a day early or stay a day late between sessions, there will be a $50.00 charge per extra night, plus a transportation charge if we pick you up at the airport. You must notify us by email no later than June 15 if you will arrive prior to the Sunday your week of camp starts or if you will stay over until Sunday after your week ends. You may NOT arrive prior to July 9 or stay after July 29. You may stay only one extra night.
CHECK OUT: Saturday by 9:00 AM of the week you are attending. Rooms must be clear of trash, and keys turned in by 9 am. Campers must be picked up by 9:00 AM. Flights should depart between 6 AM & 2 PM. If your child is on a later flight, he/she will wait at the airport.

KEY DEPOSIT: A $50.00 key deposit is charged to each camper and coach at registration and will be returned at check-out only. We will not return deposits by mail. The key deposit MUST be a separate personal check.

AIR TRANSPORTATION:
We will provide transportation to & from the Asheville, NC Airport ONLY. Transportation from the airport is FREE with an advance reservation if you arrive between 6 am and 2 pm on Sunday and leave between 6 am and 2 pm on Saturday. Flying outside these hours, or without an advance reservation will incur a $50 charge. Asheville handles most major airlines and connector flights.
Runners arriving by plane must upload the flight schedules to your camp registration at least 2 WEEKS prior to your arrival if camp needs to pick you up. We must have amble time to schedule drivers and vans for airport pick-ups. If you are arriving by plane and camp is NOT picking you up, (ie: your grandmother or coach is) DO NOT upload your flight information. ANY CHANGES MUST ALSO BE COMMUNICATED VIA EMAIL. EMAIL: run@brevarddistancerunnerscamp.com Phone messages are NOT acceptable. Wait in the baggage area for a Staff Member in a Brevard Distance Runners Camp T-Shirt. Call 828/507-4273 if you wait more than an hour. Please notify us also of any delays enroute. You may not arrive before July 9 or stay after July 29.
